Budget meeting
Tyler and I had a meeting with the UCSU Finance Board today to present our budget request for next fiscal year. Lets just say that it went fairly well. There were several things that they want clarified for the next meeting but we are ready to go.
Wed 2/8
Nothing exciting this week. I ordered all of the lighting equipment for the Pepper show coming up next Friday. I am running lights for it so hopefully I don't fuck it up. Dean will be there so if anything goes wrong I can just blame him.
But yeah... just sitting at the Computing Center right now. Updating the application database in Filemaker. Monday 1/30
So what if I skipped a week? Maybe nothing exciting happened... maybe I was too busy/lazy to update... we may never know.
Today we spent entirely too much time in the ECCR NAC computer lab installing "administrative" cameras. Monitors keep getting stolen so it was becoming necessary. Tuesday 1/17
Tuesday was spent making sure the File Maker database was up-to-date. After work I went and renewed my drivers license.
Friday 1/13
Yes it was Friday the 13th. Yes I was really hungover. Yes I went to work. Yes I didn't go in until 10:30.
I went in to the Computing Center around 10:30 and I think I just sat around for about an hour. Eventually I left for campus to ghost Stadium 350. The server didn't have Symantec Ghost on it so I had to go over to Business where the Ghost CD was still in the drive of the server there. Got that installed, imaged the lab, and went back to the Computing Center to drop off the Worksite parking pass. Then I went home and slept for a few hours. Thursday 1/12
Thursday was a whole lot of sitting in the business labs. I started out going to the Computing Center and then headed to campus to see what Dan was up to and to ghost two machines in BSNS101, the instructors computer and the one that had the hard drive replaced. While I was downloading the image I realized that when Dan and I had ghosted the lab before, we used the wrong image. An instructor was having problems with a Java application not being installed so while a new image was uploading to the server with the problems fixed, I went to the students computers that were having the problems and installed it for them.
I was sitting there watching the ghost download quite slowly to all of BSNS101, half of 107, and a few in 104 when I figured out that the business lab server was infected again. Kerry came by and we decided to stop the download and have her rebuild the server again since it turned out she hadn't done a few program updates (quicktime, flash, etc). So she started with that and I went to work updating the image for the lab. We finished about 2:30 and she went back to the Computing Center. I stayed there until after 6 waiting for them to finish. One that was supposedly fixed and I had originally gone there to ghost was still getting stuck on the system file check so I re-reported it and went home. Wednesday 1/11
Had to get up early to take the CAD lab keys over to leave them in the ECME107 rack for Dan. Then I went to the UMC to meet with Jimmie and Jon of UMC Operations and Jim from Alta Mira Electric at 9 to talk about upgrades we want for Club 156. That took until about 10 and from there I went back to Engineering to see what Dan was up to and fix the ECCH106 server. It had been giving us problems after I rebuilt it because of the Active Directory GPO governing its settings. Getting the mounted drive on the clients to work gave me shit for a while until I found out the server had the wrong IP address.
Tuesday 1/10
Dan and I ghosted the business labs again at 9. Those are all done and ready for the new semester. We then dicked around in the various engineering labs for pretty much the rest of the day. I had to go back to the Computing Center to get the dell rack key so I could work on the chemical engineering lab server. Rebuilt the operating system but could not get it to talk to the various clients so I gave up for the day and went to the PC office.
New Topic
I am starting a new topic where I shall document what I did at work for that day. I know, you can't wait.
