Web Directions North Afterparty

I got an invite to the afterparty for the Web Directions North conference that was this week in Denver thanks to Andrew Hyde. It was a lot of fun and I met some cool people. The awesome people at Media Temple rented out the billiards room and bar at the Wynkoop Brewery in Denver. Also, bar shuffleboard is pretty fun.

Hula doesn't dive into the bath and come out looking like a drowned rat like a certain cockatiel we know

Cold squirrel is cold

Giddy Up! by New Belgium

Finally picked up a Folly Pack with Giddy Up! in it. Since its not really listed anywhere I figured I would post the bottle info here.

"Giddy Up! is a delicious juxtaposition of coffee, sustainably grown in Brazil and espresso-roasted locally, pressed into an ale with the deep color of a copper cowboy kettle. First whiff is full of sweet caramel, toffee, latte. Then, a hint of lemon scone flavor from the addition of lemon peel. Body is creamy, resonant of espresso, yet the finish is bright, even a bit frisky. An ale to git along with..."
ABV: 6%

It's really pretty good. Lighter than a java porter but still a bit "coffee." Reminds me a lot of espresso ice cream. Plus the illustration on the bottle is awesome.

my roomba

I have made a few observations about our i robot we received from Rande and how it is adjusting to our family. Our cat likes to lay in front of it and dare it to vacuum his tail. The roomba likes to follow our deaf poodle around and see how many times it can scare her. I find myself turning on lights so it can see the dirt better. The most worrisome is it LOVES to go in our guest bathroom and shut the door. Thank goodness we don't have the woman robot for him..he would lock the door and never come out. You know all that bin dumping going on....
